Melanie Fascitelli: Closet Organizing & Style Pro + Founder, Clos-ette + GIVEAWAY
Stylish Storage Solutions From A Pro Organizer's Personal Closet
ELAINE SAYS: People talk about "Spring Cleaning" and yes, I'm always right in there looking for new bedding and refreshing the dish towels in the kitchen. But autumn is when I really need to regroup at home and get organized. The beginning of the school year, the promise of "serious" weather, a busier calendar overflowing with commitments and a closet filled with more substantial clothing that needs to be treated with a little more respect (i.e.: that pricey, silk shirt that's been slipping off the hanger all summer needs to be properly hung). So, in the name of attempting to transform from a breezy girl of summer into the autumn-inspired, buttoned down self I know is still in there somewhere, I turned to a pro. Melanie Fascitelli is the Celeb-Celebrated Founder of the luxury closet company, CLOS-ETTE and CLOS-ETTE TOO, Melanie's own line of closet and organizing accessories designed for just this purpose (she also publishes a fun, digital magazine, that you can find on her website). Here, she shares some of her favorite little solutions....both from her line and not....that have made a big difference in her own home. Happy Organizing! A Note From Melanie:
Melanie's Guide To Organizing Your Closet...and More:
- A Great Idea To Hang On To | SHOP I am a huge fan of slim hangers which is why I developed my own line of skinny flocked hangers - the Clos-ette Too signature hanger line. The difference is that I wanted hangers that wouldn’t snap, were made in beautiful colors and in a variety of styles so I had several types of hangers which I could use to hang different types of clothing. Not one hanger is good for all clothes! My favorite color hanger is the nude and I love the shirt hanger with bar and clips. Changing out all my hangers to the same color and style hangers has been a closet makeover miracle and dream come true! Finally I feel like I have my own Clos-ette
- The Joy of Toy Organizing | SHOP My favorite way to organize my son's toys is in this great toy cubbie I bought on amazon.com I love it and I can keep adding if I need more of them.
- A Sparkling Jewelry Solution | SHOP Jewelry is always an issue for women. How do we keep it neat, visible and protected all at once? I came up with this fabulous travel jewelry case which has been our home run product at Clos-ette Too. It has individual pages with zippered vinyl pockets for specific jewelry storage (ring page, earring page, necklace page etc.) but also has a wide exterior case so you can travel with it or just store the individual pages in a safe, drawer or on a shelf. I love the new embossed croc vinyl case and the pierced earring page.
- Pretty For Your Pocketbook | SHOP We also just designed and starting selling a wallet size sized jewelry case which is great for carrying in your purse and changing jewelry day to night. It comes in a selection of fabulous colors for the embossed croc exterior and has a zipper closure and fabulous ultra-suede interior as well.
- Keep A Lovely Linen Closet | SHOP I organize my linen closet with Clos-ette Too acrylic shelf dividers and a...
- Mark It And Park It | SHOP Brother p-touch label maker....I find it so much easier to store things this way. That way you don’t confuse bedding and towels for individual rooms.
- Little Stuff Storage... | SHOP I love to also use utilitarian style wire bins for the bathroom closet and plastic boxes for tools, tape and wires. Child proof of course.
- Hardware That Makes Styling Easy | SHOP
