Celebrated Tile Designer Turned Eyewear Creator Reveals An A-List With Real Vision

ELAINE SAYS: I have a deep love for interior design that emerges often and in many ways such as magazine scouring, book buying, furniture collecting, wish-listing and of course, window shopping. Ann Sacks tile and stone showroom is a place I've been known to visit for creative inspiration. It's quite a gallery Ann has created, combining her own beautiful collection with others she's curated for her store. I always leave excited, with new and unexpected ideas. Well apparently, and take note you pre-holiday shoppers, Ann's had a new idea of her own and it's called, FETCH. A designer eyewear line with real vision, Fetch is a family collaboration that combines the Saks' shared passion for animals with Ann's own deeply imbedded artfulness which gives the line real design cred. The concept is simple....choose your 6 favorite frames from the online store and try them out for 7 days. Once you've chosen your favorite/s, return the rest with the enclosed, prepaid shipping label. Best part...ranging from $85 for optical, reading and sunglasses to $125 for prescription, these frames are budget-friendly and great for gifting. No...this is actually the best part. 100%....Yes, 100% of the profits go to aid domestic homeless animals through a Portland-based shelter & clinic that Ann's daughter Amy founded and runs called, Pixie. So, check out Fetch, get to know "the paws behind the cause" and order some glasses for yourself, friends and family this holiday season! In the meantime, take a peak at life through Ann's lovely lens.

A NOTE FROM ANN...

I travel extensively for work and love to learn about the products and places that are inspiring my friends and colleagues around the world. But at the end of the day I feel very lucky to call Portland home. This list is my go-to for comfort, cause and creativity.  -Ann Sacks

How nice to see that after many years of selling to oldsters like myself that young people have discovered the magic of our Pacific Northwest gem.

  1. Clyde Common Clyde Common, ann sacks a-list , the list collectiveVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 1014 WE Stark Street, PortlandIn Portland one has to start ( and end!) with food because the food that is available here is an embarrassment of riches. So I will place on this list CLYDE COMMON, a fun yet food dedicated restaurant that while focused on it's very own meat products ( from OLYMPIC PROVISIONS) it also delivers on it's mission of inclusiveness by offering up the best salads and veggies in the world!
  2. Radish Underground radish, ann sacks a-list , the list collectiveVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 414 SW 10th Avenue, PortlandRadish Underground is a small but stellar boutique which, if it is not featured on  PORTLANDIA, it certainly should be! 3. Mako mako, ann sacks a-list , the list collectiveVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 732 NW 23rd Avenue, PortlandI met Mako ( her name and the name of her shop are the same) at the Portland Saturday market some thirty years ago. At that time she was making the most daring and darling T shirts sized from infant to adult. Since then she has been the owner of a childrens shop which bears her name and in which she sells wonderful sweaters and hats knit by none other than she and her equally talented sister.
