Emily Henderson: Interior Designer + HGTV Host, Secrets From A Stylist

Secret Resources From A Stylist

Yes, I am undeniably, Emily Henderson's biggest fan...so much so that I have to admit to getting a little giddy putting together this post! Reason 1: She's a really talented Interior Designer, which is my secret job crush....and it's been fun to see her rise since winning HGTV's Design Star. I also love her point of view and how she helps other people to find their own as well, combining bold, graphic ideas, new pieces and vintage finds. I could site many examples, but you should check out her WEBSITE or show, "Secrets From A Stylist," and see for yourself. Reason 2: She is totally herself....on the show, off the show, when she writes, wherever. She has a unique, honest and fun voice that I just think is cool. Reason 3: She wears these awesome, beat-up boots all the time that I really like...and I think that's a plausible reason. Most importantly, particularly for this post, she is willing to share some really great resources so that we can all get a piece of Emily's shopping style...and perhaps even a chance at channeling her talent for curating, just in time to primp (or pimp) our wardrobes and homes for the holidays.

  2. Steven Alan Outpost steven alan outpostVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: Steven Alan Outpost 1937 1/2 Hillhurst Avenue, Los Angeles [Los Feliz]Here's what happens in my head:  "Hey, Emily (says head).  Lets just pop into our neighborhood shop after lunch at Alcove. We don't have to buy, just look around. Just a quick little 'pop'. Then $250 later, I walk out.  Everything is on sale so its less than the real store and just good.
  3. Lankershim Vintage Stores lankershim vintageLOCATION: Lankershim Vintage Furniture Row From 5616-5721 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood [NoHo]Stores like Santiago's, Cruz's, Angel's and Noho Vintage. These are my Mexican brothers.  There are actually 5 vintage stores all in a row in North Hollywood, that have trash and treasure. They have some high-end stuff and some not, but I always find unique pieces.  They negotiate, they'll deliver and they are super friendly and knowledgable. They are the Mexican vintage furniture mafia because they are all related somehow, and I love them.
  4. Rose Bowl Fleamarket rose bowlVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: Rose Bowl Fleamarket 1001 Rosebowl Drive, Pasadena [Pasadena]My favorite place in the world.  I go at sunrise, with coffee, say hi to all my friend/vendors (friendors, if you will) and literally get overwhelmed with excitement of the possibilities of the day.
