Kaelen Haworth: Fashion Designer, Kaelen
Fashion Week Raves Have Put Kaelen Haworth On Many A-Lists But Today, She Shares Her Own
ELAINE SAYS: Fashion Designer, NYC Dweller and Lover of French Bulldog, Lola , Kaelen Haworth, is also celebrating accolades after a strong, Spring, 2013 Fashion Week presentation on Saturday. Her 80's inspired collection paid homage to French photographer, Jean-Paul Goude's photos of Grace Jones with powerful silhouettes, tempered by the addition of delicate fabrics and pale, nude and yellow hues. The Parsons grad was called, "...one to watch," by Elle.com, who credits this collection as the reason why. And WWD applauded her use of organic rock prints, flirty peplums and soft silk dresses, calling it, "...a winning look". So, yes...I can't wait to check out her pretty frocks at stores like Satine, Intermix and ShopBop but I also want to know where this hot designer does her own shopping...don't you? So, today the designer who is on many-a-list, shares a list of her own. Shop Kaelen's favorite stores from wherever you are and next time you're in NYC, be sure to visit some of her favorite places as well.

KAELEN'S ONLINE FINDS
- Pretty + Cool = Pretty Cool: Maryam Nassir Zadeh VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 123 Norfolk Street, NYC [Lower East Side]I like a store that is more than just good products. I like the experience of shopping in a beautiful space, with a mix of really cool things that you don't see everywhere. Stores like Maryam's fit that perfectly. It makes me feel so lucky to live in New York.
- Eye Love Glasses: Silver Lining Opticians VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 92 Thompson Street, NYC [SoHo]I have an eyewear addiction. Silver lining does not help. Last time I went in there, Jordan (one of the owners) convinced me that in addition to the tortoise frames I was buying, I also needed vintage playboy aviators with a rose tint. He was right, obviously I do.
- Man Shopping: Freeman's Sporting Club VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 8 Rivington Street, NYC [Lower East Side]I go here for my man gift needs. It's such a great spot for serious man stuff like pine soap and beard lube. It smells like a sexy tool-wielding man in there. I also buy vintage playboys from there to put in the guest room. You're welcome, visitors.
- Nesters Will Fall Hard: Love Adorned VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 269 Elizabeth Street [NoLiTa]Sister shop to the NY adorned tattoo parlor, this place is a beautiful store and packed with really great gifts and stuff for your home. I bought dreamcatchers, blankets, candles and a rug there recently. The staff is really great and helpful, and there's a store dog - that always gets me in the door.
- #1 Store...But Who's Counting: No. 6 VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 6 Centre Market Place, NYC [Little Italy]One of my favorite stores around. Such a great atmosphere, and a cool mix of vintage and hard to find designers. The staff is super friendly, and I end up buying a new pair of whatever cool clog variation they've got going on every season. Dangerous.
- An Inspiring Lens: Clic Bookstore and Gallery VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 255 Centre Street, NYC [SoHo]It's in an area that I love - center street and the blocks around there are filled with cute stores. This is kind of a gallery/book store. It's great for finding inspiration and fashion and art references. I could spend hours there.
- Love What This Creature Features: Creatures Of Comfort VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 2-5 Mulberry Street, NYC [NoLiTa]They have such a well curated selection. It's fun to browse all the jewelry, shoes, etc in the open, lofty space. The building is almost as interesting as the wares.
KAELEN'S LOCAL FAVES: NYC
- The Killer Cardamom Coffee: Hampton Chutney Co. VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 68 Prince Street, NYC [NoLiTa]I don't eat there very often, but The Hampton Chutney Co. is around the corner from my office and the Cardamom Coffee is insane. My stylist for the show bought me one during a fitting, and I still have dreams about it.
- Pasta Perfecto: Osteria Morini VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 218 Lafayette, NYC [SoHo]I went here the night after my last show, and it was unbelievable. The mushroom pasta was epic. Red wine and good food was exactly what I needed, and it was perfect.
- Refresh, Revive, Reboot: The Juice Press VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 70 East 1st Street, NYC [East Village]This is around the corner from my house, and I go very often in the mornings to get a smoothie (heaven on earth) And a drink your salad juice. It's a great place to go after a long night, it immediately makes me feel better about myself.
- My Favorite Night Cap: The Jane VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 113 Jane Street, NYC [West Village]I still love the Jane. It's so comfortable and interesting. It feels like you're going to a massive living room in a mansion instead of a bar, which is so appealing to me.
