Bar Covell VISIT WEBSITE | Location: 4628 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles [Hollywood] This is hands down my favorite place to sip wine and have meaningful (or completely silly) conversations with friends. The bartenders are not only dapperly dressed, but are more than ecstatic to help you please your palette with the perfect wine! I just adore this place...from the vintage camera decor to the smiling faces. People are always happy at Bar Covell!
Barbrix Location: 2442 Hyperion Ave Los Angeles [Silver Lake] Man, I love this wine/tapas bar so much. Whether i'm a meeting a gal for after work wine, or date night with my beau, Barbrix follows through. They have an always-changing menu of small plates with big flavor. I like to sit at the bar with a friend and share a few bites and try new wines. The bartenders are super friendly and let you try whatever wines you’re craving.
The Runway Outlet LOCATION:2395 Glendale Blvd. Ste A2, Los Angeles [Silver Lake] Ahhh, this hidden gem is tucked between Rockaway Records and Harmony Nail Salon. It's such a great place for finding amazing high-end and local designers at discount prices! I've found the most awesome party dresses there that have remained staple items in my closet and they always have fabulous sale racks that never break the bank! Lets just say its a much smaller (and calmer) version of Century 21 in New York.
Fashions of Echo LOCATION: 3630 W. 3rd St, Los Angeles [Echo Park] Ok....so i swore i would never reveal my secret spot for finding all my budget but "ohmygodwheredidyougetthat?" garb! This Koreatown "boutique" is jam packed with beyond affordable, on-trend, little items. I kid you not, they know me by name there!
Yolk LOCATION: 1626 Silver Lake Blvd. Los Angeles [Silver Lake] This newly “favorited” spot is my go-to for gifts for just about anyone. We're talking anything from the hippest housewares, to the sweetest little onesies for the ol' bambinos! I recently bought a hand-carved, wooden bottle opener shaped like a snake, for my fiances bday. PS: They always offer gift wrap! so rad!!
The Red Lion LOCATION: 2366 Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles [Silver Lake] After shopping across the street at the Runway Outlet, its a great idea to grab a cold one at the most "un-fabulous," German pub. I just love the casual feel of this bar...you can sit cozy-style in a booth on a rainy night and listen to the piano man sing cover songs, or on sunny summer afternoon, sip bit-burgers on their backyard beer garden patio. The waitresses are dressed to the nines in bar wench gear....love it!!
Chulerias LOCATION: 3743 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles [Silver Lake] This neighborhood curio shop never lets me down! When i'm looking for that perfectly imperfect bday gift for a pal, this is where i go. They have everything from mystical unicorn greeting cards to beautifully hand-crafted folk art with a Latin flair.
Pazzaz Sushi LOCATION: 2524 Hyperion Ave Los Angeles [Silver Lake] Ok....I can't believe i'm revealing this favorite either, but what the heck!! It's simple: best sushi ever and they deliver. Say no more!
Lady LOCATION: 4974 Eagle Rock Blvd, Los Angeles [Eagle Rock] This little piece of heaven is a hop skip and a jump up the 2 fwy in Eagle Rock. There are 3 reasons i go to Lady: 1) The best spread of hand selected unique tops and dresses that i always get compliments on. 2) The most amazing array of vintage handbags and jewelry that the shop owner's momma helps her buy for the store. 3) the RADDEST boutique owner EVER who is so much fun to visit, that I dont mind leaving empty handed (ha! like that ever happens!)
Love Me Sailor LOCATION: [Silver Lake] the greatest wedding photography duo ever!! this engaged silver lake couple have the best wardrobes west of the Mississippi and an amazing eye for art direction to boot!! their enthusiasm for good style and passion for everything vintage clearly shows through their work!! they did our engagement photos in awesome creative spots in silver lake and echo park neighborhoods.
