The Colorful Lifestyle Of Fashion Illustrator, Inslee Haynes

ELAINE SAYS: I don't remember when I discovered the work of fashion illustrator, Inslee Haynes, but over the past year or so, I fell. Inslee's hand is distinct and her point of view, sunny, friendly and fresh. Whether collaborating with brands like Stella and Dot, capturing a sartorial moment like her favorite looks from a Kate Spade fashion show or even bringing to life something personal like a composition of trinkets on a coffee table or bookshelf, her work translates the femme mystique in the most fun and optimistic way. Inslee's subjects feel like friends and her interior sketches, like home. So much so that they'll make you yearn for a custom drawing of your own. Oh...wait...you can have one! An original bridal drawing just might be the best wedding gift ever. And her sweet prints are a lovely and affordable way to brighten and girlie-up a room. LEARN MORE ABOUT INSLEE, CHECK OUT HER FASHION ILLUSTRATIONS AND FIND OUT HOW TO PURCHASE AND COMMISSION HER WORK IN HER "BEHIND THE LIST" POST. ....and of course, enjoy her A-List of favorites below! xx -e

A Note From Inslee Haynes

I am an independent illustrator and stationery designer in New York City. I work on watercolor commissions for both companies and individuals in a beautiful and bright studio in Soho. When I’m not painting, I spend my time wandering from coffee shop to antique shop in the East Village.

Inslee Haynes's Local Favorites: New York City

  1. The Upper Rust Inslee Haynes A-List, The List CollectiveVISITThis tiny antique and rare-finds shop on 9th street in the East Village is one of my favorite places to stop into when I’m strolling around the neighborhood. They have a beautiful collection of framed prints I have my eye on and I’m in love with an antique French cheese cloche that I received as a Christmas gift from this shop. 2. John Derian Inslee Haynes A-List, The List CollectiveVISITMy favorite boutique for unique home decor. I have to stop buying their Cire Trudon candles or I won’t be able to pay my rent. I’m addicted to one that smells like a garden full of ripe tomatoes and fresh basil.
  3. Abraco Inslee Haynes A-List, The List CollectiveVISITMy favorite coffee shop EVER. This is really saying something because as a freelance illustrator, I’ve spent my fair share of time in coffee shops. Try their olive oil cake, it’s amazing!
