ELAINE SAYS: This Tennessee native has taken LA by storm and stolen the hearts of sartorialists far beyond our local borders. The Emmy Winning Mad Men Costume Designer, Janie Bryant is now celebrating the Season 6 premiere of the hit series and her work is as anticipated as the story lines themselves. Picking up in the late 60's, I'm certain that Janie's choices throughout the season will include smart, historically accurate and varied interpretations of this incredibly exciting time. Female influences like Liz Taylor, Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy promise a variety of flavors. And under those incredible clothes, characters who are redefining themselves and their potential both in their fashion voices as well as in their gender roles in the workplace and at home. I absolutely love the period that we're about to explore and for the record, even if I weren't equally in love with the dark themes and alluring dialogue, I'd still watch this series with the sound off! So, since I have Mad Men on my mind, I thought the timing would be perfect to get up close and personal with Janie by re-sharing some of her lifestyle secrets and favorite neighborhood comforts beyond the fitting room.
