- Something Sexy For Chilly Nights: Firepot VISIT WEBSITE | Location: The Juicy Leaf 1140 Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice [Abbot Kinney, Venice]I loooove a little outdoor mood-making and for us, lighting the fire pot on a chilly night is a great way to unwind. You can purchase online or head to Abbot Kinney to pick it up and spend a little time getting inspired by all the great shopping and eating there. One more thing about the pot....Careful if you have little ones around....part of the beauty is in the movement of the open flame.
- Some Inspiration: Braid Strap Maxi Dress...or Anything...from Loup Charmant VISIT WEBSITEI love Loup Charmant so much because for me, the sheer, organic cotton pieces just tap into that breezy, beachy, effortless feel of summer, that lives deep in my soul....Kee's designs and I have a chemical connection. Another designer favorite, Heather Heron [who just opened a beautiful store on La Brea and carries some of the pieces] introduced me to the line, which speaks even more, to that light and care free quality. So, in the cold of winter [minus the unseasonably warm days we've been experiencing in LA], Loup Charmant reminds me that summer is right around the corner...in the very best way. [Also available at in LA at Barneys BH, Steven Alan in Venice and Vivier and Bently in Silverlake...and soon at SPOOL. Not in LA? Shop online or check the website for more stores in your area!]
- For Subtle Style: Dot and Dash Earings by Kathleen Whitaker VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: The Supply Room 1620 State Street, Santa BarbaraThese Dot and Dash Earings [sold individually] from LA-based jewelry designer, Kathleen Whitaker, create delicate little moments that, when mixed and matched, pack a still subtle but unique and interesting punch. I loved the way they looked on Kenny, at The Supply Room in Santa Barbara, where I first discovered them. She added the "Better Late Than Never," Gold Herkimer Stud, by Portland designer, Sara Dudzinsky...which I also loved! [Supply Room also listed HERE]
- Keeping It Cozy: Armand Diradorian Strapped Cashmere Travel Blanket VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: Barney's New York 9570 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills [BH]I recently took a really fun, Mommy/Son trip to San Fran with a couple friends [love my Kim and Jen] and their boys. We had the best time [even found a moment for shoe shopping at one of Kim's great finds called, "Gimme Shoes"...but I digress]. The only thing missing for me, was my adult blankee [is that so wrong?] and this cozy travel cashmere number would have fit the bill. It will be joining me on my next journey.
- Simple Time Saver: Berry Bowl VISIT WEBSITEThis handmade, ceramic berry bowl is a sweet vessel for rinsing meal sized portions of fruits and veggies at snacking and lunch-packing time. Its raised-foot and simple form makes it pretty enough to leave conveniently on the counter and it's microwave and dishwasher safe, as well as lead free. Plus, it's sold by one of my favorite online nesting shops, Brook Farm General Store....full of lovely and simple products that are found in the kitchens and baths of our weekend country homes [whether they be fantasy or reality] .
- Winter Warmth For Outdoor [or indoor]Spaces: Colorful Wool Blankets VISIT WEBSITEWe Angelenos are spoiled to be able to enjoy patio time in the winter. But even here, it gets chilly at night! I like to dress up my deck with colorful blankets that liven up an otherwise earthy palette. I've collected most of mine in Mexico but these vintage Bolivian Frasadsas from Twine, are hand woven, rustic works of art [and only available until sold out!]. I love the colorful edge trim, which you can see online.
- Cute and Comfy: Roseark Earth Shoes Handmade VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: Roseark 1111 North Crescent Heights Boulevard, West Hollywood [WeHo]I'm having a love affair [and it's going quite well] with these moccasins right now. Kathy Rose turned me on to her "Earth Shoes," a Roseark favorite. They're totally unstructured with a slipper-like "cush" under foot...just dreamy. I own the fringe trim [as shown in the collage] but pictured here, you can also see the banded style. There's even a version for the babies, my new favorite gift idea...cute enough to make you want to have another one, right?....Bueller? [See What Kathy Rose Loves HERE]
- Cold Weather Moisture Guaranteed: Kiehls Ultimate Strength Hand Salve VISIT WEBSITEThe feeling of rich, silky lotion melting into dry hands is pure nirvana and this work-horse product by Kiehls is my long-time, personal favorite. I have seriously dry skin and this is a serious performer, so when I forget to restock or pop it in my bag, the paws definitely suffer. I buy mine at Larchmont Beauty Supply or at the Kiehls store at the Grove...but come on....we all know where to find our Kiehls both locally and online!
- A Shot of Rich, Dark Color: Deborah Lippman Polish in, "Single Ladies" VISIT WEBSITEDeoborah Lippman is my favorite line of nail lacquer. The colors are perfectly blended and for me, this shade of red has the depth of a perfect, winter color. It is a rare occasion when I stray from something sheer on my hands [practicalities of having little kids] but when I do, this is one color I love and when I don't, it's a great, pedi-color. Classic enough for most and it looks good on all skin tones. I also love the slightly brighter, Lady Is A Tramp...Puuurty.
