Kaelen Haworth: Fashion Designer, Kaelen

Kaelen's NYC "Style List"...Happy Shopping!

ELAINE SAYS: Fashion Designer, NYC Dweller, Lover of French Bulldog, Lola and Newlywed (congrats!), Kaelen Haworth, could not be busier. The spare-time DJ even writes playlists for Fashion Week Daily! As we speak, she's preparing for her 5th Fashion Week, her show set for February 9th at the Box at Lincoln Center...but she still found time to create this NYC Shopping List for us. Like so many of us, Kaelen was originally inspired by watching her mom get dressed...Note to moms....they're paying attention! Today, those home-grown lessons, as well as those Parsons, have put her into stores like Satine, TenOverSix, Intermix, Traffic and ShopBop, among others. This new collection promises an ethereal quality with some darker undertones and I can't wait to see it. I also can't wait to shop some of Kaelen's favorite boutiques...NYC, here I come. SHOP NYC:
      1. Pretty + Cool = Pretty Cool: Maryam Nassir Zadeh maryam Nassir ZadehVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 123 Norfolk Street, NYC [Lower East Side]I like a store that is more than just good products. I like the experience of shopping in a beautiful space, with a mix of really cool things that you don't see everywhere. Stores like Maryam's fit that perfectly. It makes me feel so lucky to live in New York.
      2. Eye Love Glasses: Silver Lining Opticians silver liningVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 92 Thompson Street, NYC [SoHo]I have an eyewear addiction. Silver lining does not help. Last time I went in there, Jordan (one of the owners) convinced me that in addition to the tortoise frames I was buying, I also needed vintage playboy aviators with a rose tint. He was right, obviously I do.
      3. Man Shopping: Freeman's Sporting Club freeman's sporting clubVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 8 Rivington Street, NYC [Lower East Side]I go here for my man gift needs. It's such a great spot for serious man stuff like pine soap and beard lube. It smells like a sexy tool-wielding man in there.  I also buy vintage playboys from there to put in the guest room. You're welcome, visitors.
      4. Nesters Will Fall Hard: Love Adorned love adornedVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 269 Elizabeth Street [NoLiTa]Sister shop to the NY adorned tattoo parlor, this place is a beautiful store and packed with really great gifts and stuff for your home. I bought dreamcatchers, blankets, candles and a rug there recently. The staff is really great and helpful, and there's a store dog - that always gets me in the door.
      5. #1 Store...But Who's Counting: No. 6 no. 6VISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 6 Centre Market Place, NYC [Little Italy]One of my favorite stores around. Such a great atmosphere, and a cool mix of vintage and hard to find designers. The staff is super friendly, and I end up buying a new pair of whatever cool clog variation they've got going on every season. Dangerous.
      6. An Inspiring Lens: Clic Bookstore and Gallery clic bookstore and galleryVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 255 Centre Street, NYC [SoHo]It's in an area that I love - center street and the blocks around there are filled with cute stores. This is kind of a gallery/book store. It's great for finding inspiration and fashion and art references. I could spend hours there.
      7. Love What This Creature Features: Creatures Of Comfort creatures of comfortVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 2-5 Mulberry Street, NYC [NoLiTa]They have such a well curated selection. It's fun to browse all the jewelry, shoes, etc in the open, lofty space. The building is almost as interesting as the wares.

    2. Pasta Perfecto: Osteria Morini osteria moriniVISIT WEBSITE | LOCATION: 218 Lafayette, NYC [SoHo]I went here the night after my last show, and it was unbelievable. The mushroom pasta was epic. Red wine and good food was exactly what I needed, and it was perfect.
