Peter Loughrey: Director of Los Angeles Modern Auctions [LAMA]

A Truly Modern Man

ELAINE SAYS: I love discovering modern art resources. So meeting Peter and his wife, Shannon, opened up a new door I'm happily walking through. Their auction house, LAMA, hosts several modern auctions a year but this SUNDAY is the collection of RICHARD DORSO, producer of iconic tv shows like Gilligan's Island, Patty Duke and The Fugitive. The late, Dorso lived a fabulous, Hollywood lifestyle [with wife Betty, grandmother to Robert Downey Jr.] and was a self-professed, "...happy art" collector. Dorso hand-picked Peter to sell his treasures, which include pieces by John Baldessari, Ed Ruscha and Roy Lichtenstein. And since it's a "no reserve" auction, everything must go...so, you can potentially leave with an original Ellsworth Kelly, a great story and some change in your purse....Although, I may have to chase you to your car :) In the meantime, the favorite things of the "Man Behind the Modern"...Peter Loughrey.
