- A New House VIEW WEBSITE | LOCATION: Heath Ceramics 7525 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles [Beverly] I'm going to confess now to my obsession with Heath Ceramics. I guarantee that if you follow my suggestions, there'll be a well-worn path from your driveway to theirs. When Heath's talented, Adam Silverman pointed out these ceramic house numbers, they instantly become my favorite idea for a special housewarming gift. These clay tiles are crafted 3-dimensionally, using classic Eames and Neutra number fonts. Original, Practical, Beautiful. $38 each. And if mid-century style doesn't suit the home, check out another favorite, LIzzie's Antique Hardware on Labrea or Restoration Hardware, for some beautiful alternatives. Restoration's Mission House Numbers are a great choice.
- A New Baby VIEW WEBSITE | LOCATION: Larchmont Larder 626 North Larchmont Boulevard, Los Angeles [Larchmont Village] Know someone who just had a baby? Well, they probably already have a room filled with fluffy blankets, plush toys and precious outfits. So get the new mom what she really needs….a night off. A gift certificate for the Hump Day Dinners, cooked and packaged every Wednesday (and pasta night every Monday) at the Larchmont Larder, will provide your blissed-out but sleep-deprived friend a delicious dinner for 4, warming instructions and plenty of left-overs for cooing guests. PS: When they offer short ribs, get an extra order for yourself! Prices: $40-$52
- A New Love VIEW WEBSITE | LOCATION: 644 North Robertson Boulevard, Los Angeles [WeHo]When you want to give (or get) a romantic gift and a splurge is in order, visit (or hint about) Ariana Lambert Smeraldo's Artful, Lily Lodge on Robertson. For a classic approach, choose Flowers in a Box and enjoy the confidence of knowing that the recipient will surely have that "Tiffany Moment" when they see they're delivery propped up against the front door. For something more unique and long lasting, select a vintage vase from the shop's curated collection and have it filled with beautiful, organic blooms. Each vase comes with a card describing the piece and serves as a sentimental reminder that lasts long after the flowers are gone. And if you stop by soon, you'll see the most incredible peonies. Flowers priced by the stem, vases begin at $40 (and up...way up)
