ELAINE SAYS: Is it really Mother's Day already? I can't believe how this year has flown by and how many memories are already packed up and stowed away. It all passes so, so fast....as does this special day. There's no question that the little things, the personal touches and sentimental expressions are the true treasures of Mother's Day. Unlike birthdays, which are fun, upbeat markers of time, Mother's Day is a moment of appreciation for a job done well, 24/7, with all your heart. So, it goes without saying that this day is the most meaningful special occasion of the year for most moms....even the those whose kids have grown. So, note to dads and kids...don't forget the photo albums or the breakfasts in bed and don't skip the art projects or the cards written in crayon with phonetical spelling. It's our rite of passage...they're our badges of honor for the job that defines our most personal life's work. Just add a little something pretty to go with it... Delicate and Dignified: Favorites from Maya Brenner Designs My friend, Maya's, MAYA BRENNER DESIGNS is my first stop for gifts because watching someone open them always delivers, "oooohs" and "aahhhs" and "thank you's" galore. They are delicate and feminine and universally adored. Her initial necklaces are complete, "sure things" (you can even order one necklace with multiple initials on it for mommy's with multi-minis) but I was feeling these two pieces today.
