The Best and Easiest Weekend Brunch Recipe...Ever!!

The Best and Easiest Weekend Brunch Recipe…Ever!!

Get A Big Wow With Ridiculously Little Effort

My upcoming trip home to Chicago is causing food fantasies...deep dish pizza, Vienna Pure Beef on steamed, S. Rosen, poppyseed buns, insanely fluffy omelettes...all delicious enigmas. But one Windy City dish that's been cracked for home cooking is the German Pancake or, "Dutch Baby," as it's called by our favorite Chi-Town Pancake House, Walker Bros. If you're a Chicagoan, you know how good it is (and if you ever have the chance, I beg of you to try the Apple Pancake as well). Luckily, my crafty sister, Dayna, scored this amazing recipe that's so simple even I can't mess it up. I've used it for many a brunch fete and given its remarkable impact and the accolades that follow, I feel almost guilty confessing it's simplicity. But that said, I'm sharing the wealth....and the calories. Now mix some mimosas...happy brunching! xx -e

Combine
  1. 1 Cup Flour,1 Cup Milk,1 Tablespoon Sugar,1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla,1/2 Teaspoon Salt,6 eggs
  2. Grab a pan with high sides like a Stir Fry Pan, a large Pyrex Dish or my personal preference, my All Clad Braiser.
  3. Melt abut 6 Tablespoons of butter in the pan
  4. Pour the batter in the pan
  5. Bake at 425 for about 30 minutes.  You'll see the sides puff up and brown
  6. Remove from oven
  7. Squeeze lemon wedges on the center surface and sprinkle with confectioners sugar
  8. Serve Immediately!!! (thank me later)
