9 Questions Reveal Everything From Recipes & Inspiration To Secret Crushes

ELAINE SAYS: I met the multi-talented, Heather Taylor, before The List Collective even launched. I was on a gallery tour with my friend, Kim and Art Consultant, Leslie Rubinoff [if you're looking for help finding art, she's the one to call]. I really responded to the work in Heather's gallery, TAYLOR DECORDOBA, which she co-owns with husband, ALEX DECORDOBA. My posse and I had been jumping from gallery to gallery but once we met Heather, we settled in for a bit, talking and browsing her beautiful artists. Soon after, and as things sometimes happen, another friend, DEB KAPLAN insisted that I meet her friend, Heather Taylor to contribute an A-List to the site. She knew I was getting ready to launch and thought we'd be a great fit. Well, of course I agreed and Heather's became one of the firsts A-Lists on the site. The very first with a theme, in fact. We titled it, "How To Become An Art Collector. Take a peek HERE. Since then, I've become an avid reader of her lifestyle blog, LA IN BLOOM, which I find to be an inspiring resource, and an admirer of all things Heather. The debuted of her new line of table linens is a perfect next step and one I couldn't wait to share. HEATHER TAYLOR HOME is where this talented lady's downtown eye meets her uptown sophistication, beautifully blending earthy artisanship with modern design. Below, browse images of her stunning collection as Heather reveals a bit more about herself from cocktail recipes to secret crushes...you won't believe. Enjoy...xx -e

  1. What drew you to table linens and where did you design inspiration come from? heather taylor home, the list collectiveI've been knitting and weaving for years, so I actually have been designing handmade textiles since I learned to knit 12 years ago. I also love entertaining and setting a beautiful table but I couldn't find linens I loved without traveling to some far flung locale. I decided that I would start my own line, using inspiration from traditional textiles I have collected on my travels.
  2. What's something you envision on the table with your pretty linens? heather taylor home, the list collectiveLoads of flowers - whatever is plentiful and in season. [Pictured: Pink Gods Eye Collection]

  4. Your blog, LA In Bloom, is about nesting and entertaining...do you have a go-to recipe to share, that's great for entertaining? heather taylor home, the list collectiveYES! I love making cocktails, especially when citrus is in season. Here's a recipe for my Farmers Market Margarita. You can swap any fruit for the grapefruit and top it off with a complimentary herb like mint, lavender or chamomile. Serves 2. Muddle four bite-size pieces of grapefruit (half a grapefruit), one ounce of agave and the juice of two limes in a cocktail shaker. Add 4 ounces good quality silver tequila and a cup of ice and shake until mixed and icy cold. Strain into glasses and garnish with grapefruit segments. [Pictured: White Flower Collection]
  5. We need your expertise for our own lists....Tell us your go-to hostess gift idea. heather taylor home, the list collective A bottle of something red and sparkling like Lambrusco or Brachetto D'Asti and a bar of MAST BROTHERS CHOCOLATE. [Pictured: Clare Viver Ad Featuring Heather's Linens]
  6. What's next at Heather Taylor Home?  heather taylor home, thelistcollectiveI'm working on some new designs for the table linens and also developing other products like pillows and dishtowels. [Pictured: Heather's Table Linens In Action]
  7. Can we take advantage of your expertise as a gallerist and ask you to share an artist we should know? Hadley Holiday via Heather Taylor for The LIst CollectiveWe're really excited about NY-based artist Simone Shubuck. We just moved into a new gallery space and our first show will be with Simone. She makes detailed and fanciful works on paper in a really gorgeous palette. Another artist whose work I continue to be inspired by is LA-based painter Hadley Holliday. We have one of her colorful and geometric paintings in our office and I'm in love with it. [pictured: Arwork by Hadley Holiday]
  8. Describe a day in the life.... heather taylor, the list collectiveI wake up around 6:30, make coffee or tea and do some work on my computer - blogging, reading the paper, catching up on social media. Most days I work out around 8 - either a hike, yoga or spinning - and make myself a healthy breakfast like a smoothie or an egg and avocado on toast. I head into the office around 10and meet with my assistant and partner about the day's priorities. Between Taylor De Cordoba and Heather Taylor Home, I'm always juggling so making a list helps me get organized. After a few hours of office work, I run out to have a meeting with one of my artists at their studio to discuss an upcoming show. Back to work, reviewing samples and talking to my linen manufacturers. Oops, I forgot to eat lunch. Grab a taco and horchata from Pinches. More work and then off to meet my pal Clare Vivier for a quick drink and catchup. Then it's home for dinner with my husband, followed by Netflix and The New Yorker. 9. Last question....Tell us something we don't know about you and don't be shy! heather taylor home, the list collectiveI have a crush on Harvey Weinstein. [Photo Courtesy, Jeana Sohn]
